The Tour de France does not start in Barcelona every year. And the biggest race in the world does not roll past our training roads every day. On 6 July, during stage three, the peloton rolled right past our door. And there we were, with the new bike still under wraps.
Unveiling the Cadí
Once the bunch had passed, we pulled the cover off. This is the Cadí, our climbing road bike: an 830-gram frame, 7.2 kg total weight and the name of the country's most serious range. Built to climb.
The groupset she carries is the same one racing in front of us today: 12-speed Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, with a 50-34 double crankset and hydraulic brakes. We have written it on the spec sheet from day one: it is the groupset that wins Tours. Today we saw it up close.
What the Cadí is
- 830 g frame in Carbon Composite SLR, with CIM carbon wheels and Vittoria Corsa N.EXT tyres.
- 3D-printed carbon saddle: less weight, fewer pressure points and more hours in the saddle.
- Built in Catalonia, with a 5-year warranty and a 4 to 8 week build time at the Taradell workshop.
The full spec sheet, with geometry and sizes, is on the Cadí page. Price: €8,999.
Rules are made to be broken
The Cadí's seatstay carries the same phrase engraved on every bike we make. Presenting a climbing bike at the roadside, on the day the Tour passes our home, is our way of saying it: the rules say a small brand does not do these things. We just did.
If you want to see the Cadí up close, write to us and visit the workshop. And if you want to know what comes next, join the PYRMON newsletter.
